One person died and another was arrested Saturday following a solo-vehicle crash in rural Santa Clara County. At about 6:30 p.m., California Highway Patrol officers were sent to the intersection of Monterey Road at Church Avenue in the unincorporated community of San Martin. Watch NBC Bay Area News free wherever you are When they got to the scene, officers found that a Ford SUV had veered off the road and hit a tree, killing the 31-year-old woman in the front passenger seat. Investigators believe that speed was a factor in the crash and arrested the driver on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, CHP officials said in a news release Monday. The victim's name wasn't released, but the CHP said she was a resident of San Martin.
