KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) — One person died and another was hurt in a shooting in Kentwood early Monday, according to police. Around 4:13 a.m., officers with the Kentwood Police Department were called to Kalamazoo Avenue SE near Ellora Drive SE after someone reported that they heard shots fired. Before police arrived, two people were taken to the hospital by private vehicles. One of them died at the hospital, police said. The other was treated for a gunshot wound that police said is not life-threatening.
