1 dead, 1 injured after shooting near Rocketts Landing, Crime Insider sources tell Jon Burkett

RICHMOND, Va. — One man is dead and another was seriously injured after a shooting near Rocketts Landing in Richmond Tuesday night, according to Richmond Police.Officers were called around 10:06 p.m. to the 3100 block of Wharf Street for reports of a person shot.When officers arrived, they found a man in the front passenger seat of a parked vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.A second man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound was also found at the scene and transported to the hospital with injuries considered life-threatening.The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death.Detectives said the two men knew each other and investigators believe the shooting may have been accidental.
