1 dead, 2 injured as fishing boat crashes near Golden Gate Bridge

A Tucson, Arizona, man says two screwdrivers are the only explanation he has for a mid-flight meltdown that got him duct-taped to his seat, zip-tied and criminally charged. The Baltimore Banner obtained audio of a court proceeding for Layne Lundeen, 67, who was aboard an American Airlines flight from Dallas to Newark, New Jersey, on Sept. The flight was forced to divert to Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport after he used profanities and racial slurs, woke a sleeping passenger and asked another woman if she loved Jesus, according to police. At his first court appearance in Annapolis, Maryland, Lundeen said he couldn’t remember any of it and that he drank two screwdrivers while talking with the man in the seat next to him. As the pilot announced an emergency landing, nearby passengers grabbed duct tape and restrained Lundeen in his seat.
