1 dead, 4 hurt in shooting at Kentucky outdoor music event

A shooting during an outdoor event in downtown Lexington on Saturday evening left one person dead and four others injured, including two children, according to Kentucky authorities. Police said officers responded to reports of gunfire at Charles Young Park shortly before 7 p.m. and located five victims. One victim later died at a hospital, while the others were expected to survive their injuries, according to Lex 18 . The shooting occurred as a community gathering and outdoor music event was taking place at the park. Witnesses and local officials described a large crowd at the location when gunfire broke out, prompting a rapid response from police already assigned to the event, NBC News reported .
