1 dead, 4 teens hurt after shooting in Yonkers, police say
One person died, and four other teens were hurt after a shooting Sunday night in Yonkers, according to police.Officers responded just before 9 p.m. to the area of Elm Street and Palisade Avenue.They said five people were hit by gunfire, including a 20-year-old who was pronounced dead after being shot in the back. The other four victims, who are 14, 15 and 16 years old, are in critical but stable condition at the hospital. A 15-year-old was taken into custody at the scene, according to the police department. Investigators recovered a loaded gun and other evidence at the scene. Officers were seen working in two separate taped-off areas overnight.
