Authorities say one person was killed in a plane crash that sparked a wildfire on the outskirts of Guymon on Sunday. The crash happened around 4:10 p.m. near the Guymon Municipal Airport, not far from the Elks Addition. Guymon Fire Chief Grant Wadley said in a news release that witnesses reported a plane taking off from the airport to the south and seeing it take a left turn over a golf course. Officials said the crash sparked a wildfire that burned approximately 20 acres. The wildfire threatened homes, but the flames were contained.
