CLATSOP COUNTY, Ore. — One person was killed and at least three people were injured in a four-vehicle crash on Highway 30 in Clatsop County on Saturday, according to Oregon State Police (OSP) and the Oregon National Guard. A total of 17 people were involved; one of the vehicles was a van carrying 11 Oregon National Guard members on their way back to the Clackamas area from a training event at Camp Rilea on the coast. OSP responded to the crash just before 9 p.m. at milepost 85, which is near Svenson. Investigators later established that a Ford Ranger pickup traveling westbound crossed the median for unknown reasons and sideswiped an eastbound Ram 1500 pickup, then hit the Ford Transit van. An eastbound Ford F-100 pickup behind the van was unable to stop in time and also hit it.
