1 dead in Glendale shooting under investigation as homicide

An early morning shooting near Cherry Creek in Glendale on Monday left one person dead, police said. Glendale officers responded to the fatal shooting in the 5000 block of East Mississippi Avenue shortly after 2 a.m. Monday, police department spokesperson Cmdr. Several people were detained in connection with the shooting, which is being investigated as a homicide, according to a news release from the police department. The circumstances surrounding the shooting and events leading up to it remain under investigation.
