1 injured in shooting involving Benton County deputy

BENTON COUNTY, Ind. -- Indiana State Police are investigating after a vehicle pursuit ended with an officer involved shooting. According to ISP, a Benton County deputy attempted to pull over a 2009 Infiniti G37 for a traffic violation on US 41 near County Road 400 South around 6:30 p.m. The Infiniti failed to stop and headed south on US 41 at a high rate of speed. The pursuit continued into Warren County, and the vehicle stopped just south of CR 650 in a field. The driver got out and ran into the field, with the driver indicating that he was armed with a weapon.
