1 person shot after intoxicated gunman opens fire at southwest Houston restaurant, police say

A man was hospitalized after being randomly struck by gunfire outside a southwest Houston restaurant late Saturday night, according to the Houston Police Department . The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. near Beechnut Street and Corporate Drive. Investigators said a man and his nephew became intoxicated inside the restaurant, prompting security and the owner to ask them to leave. Once outside, the suspect reportedly went back to his vehicle, retrieved a firearm and began shooting toward the business. A man in his 30s, who was outside with a witness, was hit in the torso and leg.
