Millwood Public Schools says coaches performed CPR and called emergency medical personnel after the student collapsed Thursday; the district is offering grief counseling and support services. An 11-year-old Millwood Public Schools student has died after collapsing during football practice on Thursday, according to district officials. In a news release issued on Friday, the district says 11-year-old Jaheir Booker collapsed during football practice on Thursday. The district says football coaching staff immediately began CPR on Booker and contacted emergency medical personnel, but Booker later died at the hospital. “Our heartfelt sympathies go out to his family and loved ones during this painful time,” the district said. On Friday, Booker’s mother, Lysette Jones, released a statement regarding her son. “My son was one of the sweetest, most genuine souls you could ever meet,” Jones said. “He was always smiling, always bringing a light into the room, and had a heart that was truly one of a kind.
