13-year-old shot in head in Longs incident, SC police report says

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- An Horry County police report is giving new details about a shooting Thursday morning in the Longs area that left a person critically injured. While officers were responding to a home on Cedar Lane just before 1 a.m. for the shooting, they were told that a 13-year-old had been struck in the head and that another person had been struck in the leg, according to the report. Officers were also told by people in the home that there was a strong odor of gasoline and that they could smell smoke. Because of that information, Horry County Fire Rescue also responded, the report said. The responding officer saw smoke coming from around the home, as well as fire coming from the underside of it.
