A wildfire near Area 15 on withdrawn lands of the Nevada Test and Training Range is at 12 percent containment, covering nearly 13,000 acres. Nevada’s Bureau of Land Management office said in a release Friday that activity in the Quail Springs Fire in Lincoln County remained relatively light overall, with isolated group torching and creeping fire behavior. Firefighters continued using retardant and ground resources to keep the fire within established containment lines. The fire, first reported Saturday morning, was caused by lightning, according to the agency. No evacuations and no publicly accessible structures are threatened.
