Authorities said the stolen car struck a Bel Air police officer and a sheriff's deputy who were standing outside their vehicles. The sheriff's office said the driver refused to identify himself and was charged under the name John Doe with two counts of attempted murder, assault, theft of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, hit-and-run, traffic violations and other offenses. A pursuit followed, and officials took the driver and a passenger into custody in the Jarrettsville area.
