The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded Friday morning to an isolated hazmat incident at Daybrook Fisheries in Empire. According to a statement from Westbank Fishing, the two people who died were company employees and were killed during unloading operations at the company’s Empire facility. Their families have been notified, and the names of the victims are not being released at this time.
