2 dead in overnight shooting in Kansas City; person of interest in custody

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Two people are dead after an early-morning shooting in Kansas City, according to police. The Kansas City Police Department says crews were called to the area of 54th and Michigan Ave. just after 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, on reports of a shooting. First responders note that they arrived to find a man and a woman shot in the street. Officers began rendering aid, and KCFD medics arrived at the same time.
