NEWPORT, R.I. (WPRI) — Newport police detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for a second suspect wanted in connection with a double shooting last month. Nasydi Brown, 18, will face charges of felony assault with a firearm and discharging a firearm in a compact area, according to police. Brown was arrested in late July at a home in Newport News, Virginia, along with the first suspect in the Newport shooting, 19-year-old Tyquan Johnson. Newport police said Brown was wanted by police in Hampton, Virginia, on gun and child abuse charges, but as a result of their investigation, he was identified as the second suspect in the double shooting. Two people, ages 22 and 25, were wounded in the July 19 shooting at the Park Holm housing complex off Truman Road.
