3 killed, 3 injured after SUV hits tractor trailer on I-95 in Dorchester County

DORCHESTER COUNTY — Three people were killed, and three others injured, after an SUV struck a tractor trailer on Interstate 95 the afternoon of Sept. The collision occurred at approximately 1:09 p.m. near the highway’s mile marker 83 in the St. George area, according to Nicholas Pye, spokesperson for the S.C. Highway Patrol. “Unit number 1, the tractor trailer, and unit number 2, the Honda SUV, were traveling north on I-95,” Pye said. “Unit number 2, the Honda SUV, struck unit number 1, the tractor trailer.” The Honda SUV — a 2020 variant — had six occupants, according to Pye. The driver and two passengers were transported to a local hospital, and their current condition has not been not disclosed.
