36-year-old man killed in crash involving tractor-trailer in Jefferson County
Ellisburg, N.Y. — A 36-year-old man died after a crash involving a tractor-trailer Friday afternoon in Jefferson County, deputies said. The crash happened around 1:05 p.m. at the intersection of County Route 79 and Mixer Road in the town of Ellisburg, according to a news release from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators said James A. Sturges, 36, of Henderson, was traveling south on Mixer Road in a Chevrolet Trax and attempting to turn east onto County Route 79 when he turned into the path of a tractor-trailer traveling west on County Route 79. The vehicles then collided, deputies said.
