4-car crash leaves sheriff’s deputy, 1 other driver injured

HOT SPRINGS -- A Garland County sheriff's deputy was injured in a four-car collision on Arkansas 7 on Tuesday, authorities said. A logging truck was traveling south on Arkansas 7 north toward the roundabout at 11 a.m. when it failed to stop in time and struck a the deputy's vehicle in the rear. The momentum from the impact resulted in the deputy's vehicle hitting a white Hyundai, which then ran into a commercial vehicle, which sustained minor damage. "The driver of the white vehicle, a male subject, was taken to the hospital. Our deputy was taken to the hospital. Both have sustained injuries, what those are right now we don't know, but they are both conscious and being treated on the way to the hospital," sheriff's office Capt.
