HEBER-OVERGAARD, AZ (AZFamily) — Four people are dead and two are hurt after a head-on crash in eastern Arizona on Labor Day. Authorities with the Forest Lakes Fire District said two vehicles crashed head-on along State Route 260 at mile marker 300, just west of Heber-Overgaard . Four people were dead at the scene, and two others were flown to hospitals in the Valley, officials said. The Forest Lakes Fire District said SR 260 is closed in both directions. Traffic is backing up on the highway, and there is no estimated time for the road to reopen.
