5 shot, 1 killed at a Lexington park, police say. 4-year-old among those injured

Five people were shot, including one who was killed, in an incident at Lexington’s Charles Young Park Saturday night, according to Lexington Police Chief Lawrence Weathers and Gov. Beshear announced the shooting while speaking at a Kentucky Democratic Party’s dinner at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Lexington Saturday, but Weathers provided additional information shortly after at the scene of the shooting. Weathers said a 4-year-old, a 14-year-old and two adults were shot and taken to a hospital. Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. The person who died hasn’t yet been identified.
