5-year-old pedestrian killed while crossing street on far east side
A 5-year-old girl is dead after she was struck by a car while crossing the street on the far east side of Columbus late Friday night. Gem Scott and members of her family were attempting to cross East Broad Street near Outerbelt Street when she was hit by a car traveling east. Scott was taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital in critical condition, where she died not long after. The driver did remain on the scene and cooperated with investigators, according to a police report.
