72-year-old woman using walker hit and killed on Fannin Street near Texas Medical Center, Houston police say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A 72-year-old woman was hit and killed near the Texas Medical Center on Friday morning, the Houston Police Department said. Police said the fatal crash happened along Fannin Street at Old Spanish Trail around 5 a.m. SkyEye13 flew over the scene, where patrol cars could be seen responding and blocking off the intersection. In an update, HPD said the driver of a white Nissan Altima was going westbound on Old Spanish Trail and had a green light. That's when police said the 72-year-old woman, who was walking in the crosswalk on Fannin Street while using a walker, was hit by the Nissan.
