An 82-year-old Liberty man died when the lawn mower he was riding was struck by a car north of Kansas City, North, in rural Clay County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The crash occurred shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday north of 122nd Terrace on North Stark Avenue , according to a preliminary crash report. The man killed in the crash was riding a Skag lawn mower and traveled onto the road, pulling into the path of a southbound 2013 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 63-year-old man, also from Liberty. The Malibu struck the rear of the lawn mower.
