The shooting occurred around 2:20 a.m. in a parking lot near downtown Asheville, where a large group of people had gathered after area bars had closed, authorities said. "At this time, evidence developed by investigators indicates that the shooting may have been related to a prior gun violence incident," police said in a statement.
