A 26-year-old went to urgent care with a headache and was sent home — 3 days later, he was dead, lawsuit says

It was the smell — fueled by a week of August heat — that led other residents to ask management at Central City Concern’s Old Town Chinatown residential building to check on Eric Eno’s third-story unit. A day later, when an employee ultimately did, they discovered Eno’s body in such bad shape that he “no longer had fingerprints” and his sister was told it was impossible to “get even a lock of Eric’s hair.” Eight days had passed without Eno doing his daily check-ins with staff at the Shoreline Building apartments. That’s all according to a $3 million lawsuit filed last week against nonprofit housing and social services provider Central City Concern and Multnomah County, which funnels taxpayer dollars to it for those services. The suit was filed by Eno’s sister, Kristine Eno, over the delayed discovery of the 42-year-old’s body in August 2024. Their bodies were later found in various states of decomposition.
