According to one lawsuit, a manager cracked the door and called 911, saying the manager knew a deceased person was inside because “I know the smell.” Some of the suits allege that the residents might not have died had Central City Concern checked on them in their last hours or days of life from causes that included extreme heat and unspecified natural ailments.
