A fourth Michigan lawsuit says Taco Bell, Taylor Farms negligent in Cyclospora outbreak

MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. — A Muskegon woman filed Michigan's fourth lawsuit against Taco Bell and Taylor Farms Tuesday, the two companies linked to a cyclosporiasis outbreak in nine states. A Cyclospora outbreak across several states, hitting Michigan the worst, started in mid-June and is linked to shredded iceberg lettuce supplied by Taylor Farms' central Mexico facility to Taco Bell. Taylor Farms, a leading global produce supplier, issued a voluntary recall of the implicated products on July 17 and, in what company officials said is an extra precaution, included all of their iceberg lettuce from central Mexico in the recall after the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) initial traceback investigation findings linked them to the outbreak. No Taylor Farms branded salads or kits are associated with the recall. As of Wednesday, O'Hara is one of at least 10,076 other Michiganders reporting a cyclosporiasis infection.
