Adult, 2 children injured in Miami County plane crash after striking tree

TROY, Ohio — A 49-year-old man was seriously injured and two children were also hurt after a plane crash in Miami County Wednesday night. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the plane crash occurred just after 9:30 p.m. at the Troy Skypark Airport in Monroe Township. OSHP said investigators believe the single-engine Bellanca 7ECA struck a tree while approaching the runway. Officials said the pilot sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Premier Health Miami Valley Hospital. Two 6-year-old children, who were passengers on the plane, were taken to Premier Health Upper Valley Medical Center for minor injuries.
