Allegations of second racist slur against Barlow football player triggers investigation

Two Oregon school districts are investigating the alleged use of a racist slur during a football game Friday — marking the second straight week that a mother says her son was targeted . North Salem High School is looking into a claim that a player used the slur during the Vikings’ recent game at Barlow High School, the Salem-Keizer School District confirmed to The Oregonian/OregonLive on Monday. “We are aware of the report from Friday’s game and take all reports like this seriously,” said district community relations and communications director Aaron Harada. “We have high expectations for our students, especially when it relates to the ability for all students to feel welcome and supported.
