A forensic examination determined that the newborn had signs of traumatic injury, the sheriff's office said. "While we understand the public has many questions about the circumstances of that investigation, there are specific details and evidence that we cannot release at this time without potentially jeopardizing the investigation," the sheriff's office said in a statement Sunday.
