ANSON, Texas — Anson police responded to a shooting report late Sunday, August 2 at the Dollar General store at 732 Commercial Avenue. According to the Anson Police Department, officers were called to the scene at about 9:32 p.m. after reports that an unidentified male had fired two to three gunshots at another man. Following an immediate investigation, police identified and arrested Aaron Arrieta in connection with the incident. He has been charged with one count of attempted murder and two counts of deadly conduct. Arrieta was taken to the Jones County Jail, where he remains in custody, according to the release.
