The attempted murder suspect who was shot by a police officer earlier this month at a Thousand Oaks hospital attacked her and hurt himself with a broken piece of glass while hospitalized, the Simi Valley Police Department said in an update on Tuesday. Luis Ramirez-Macias, 46, of Simi Valley, was arrested on July 2 after officers were called to a Simi Valley home that morning for a call of a domestic dispute. Responding officers found Ramirez-Macias and his wife with stab wounds, then learned that the man attempted to kill his wife and harmed himself.
