Belchertown football pulls away from Smith Voke for 5-0 start

MassLive.com reports: BELCHERTOWN — On a night when the Belchertown football team celebrated eight senior players and four senior cheerleaders in orange and black fashion, the Orioles avenged last year’s 26-14 loss to Smith Vocational with a dominant second-half performance, beating the Pioneers 48-12 on Friday. Smith Voke got off to a fast start when speedy returner Jameson Tobin raced for a 50-yard gain on the opening kickoff before Belchertown senior Israel Torres made a touchdown-saving tackle at the 30-yard line. The Pioneers couldn’t pick up a first down against Belchertown’s stingy defense, however, turning the ball over on downs.
