BELL COUNTY , Texas (FOX 44) - The Bell County Sheriff's Office has released a full incident summary and list of charges for Johnathan Allen Nance-Karl, the murder suspect who was the subject of an hours-long manhunt involving multiple Law Enforcement agencies in Bell County yesterday, September 17, 2026. Incident Summary Johnathan Allen Nance-Karl is suspected of murdering Ashley Nance-Karl of Troy, Texas. The suspect was captured at approximately 7:43 PM yesterday evening and booked into the Bell County Jail. Charges & Investigation Homicide Charge: The Texas Rangers are the primary investigating agency regarding the murder of Ashley Nance-Karl in Troy, Texas. A charge of Murder was accepted by the Bell County District Attorney's Office, and a warrant was signed by Judge Larry Wilkey.
