Friday, September 4, 2026 74° Today's Paper Today • Last updated 2:14 p.m. Hawaii island police are asking for the public’s help in their investigation of a woman whose remains were found along a Waipio Valley shoreline on Sunday. Patrol officers responding to a call at 12:35 a.m. on Sunday found a body at the water’s edge along the shoreline. Due to advanced decomposition, they were unable to immediately determine the woman’s age or race. The Hawaii Police Department said an autopsy was performed at Hilo Benioff Medical Center and that the cause of death is pending.
