Bonneville County coroner identifies man killed in officer-involved shooting

LINCOLN, Idaho (KIFI) — The Bonneville County Coroner’s Office has identified the man killed in an officer-involved shooting early Friday morning as 43-year-old Marcus Griffin of Idaho Falls. Coroner Shante Sanchez confirmed Griffin’s identity following the incident on Friday, Sept. 4, but held off on releasing the name to allow family members time to notify loved ones, according to an official statement from the coroner’s office. The shooting occurred just before 6 a.m. after dispatchers received a call from a residence on Badger Creek Road. The caller indicated he was armed and intended to take his own life, according to the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office.
