Boone Pickens Stadium to transform into $2 million outdoor hockey rink for multi-day event

KOCO reports: Boone Pickens Stadium will be transformed into an outdoor hockey venue this January as Oklahoma State University hosts Bedlam on Ice, an event designed to promote hockey in Oklahoma. “This is so important to this university in many aspects. It's going to give an opportunity for the university to show innovation to the rest of the world,” said Michael Mann, OSU hockey chairman. Building a hockey rink inside a football stadium is a significant undertaking. “The rink itself is going to cost about $1 million to just put down for the four days it takes,” Mann said.
