Broccoli sprouts linked to salmonella outbreak recalled after 22 are sickened

WASHINGTON — Broccoli sprouts sold in three Western states have been recalled after they were linked to a salmonella outbreak, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The recalled broccoli sprouts were grown by Idaho-based Evergreen Fresh Sprouts and sold in grocery stores and restaurants and to foodservice customers in Washington state, Idaho and Montana. The sprouts might have been distributed in additional states. There have been 22 salmonella cases connected to the sprouts in Washington, Idaho, Montana and Utah, the FDA said in its recall notice.
