Brownfield Police searching for suspect after Saturday morning shooting

BROWNFIELD, Texas (KCBD) - Two men have been arrested and police are looking for a third after a shooting in the 1600 block of East Tate left one person injured early Saturday morning, according to the Brownfield Police Department. Officers heard gunshots at approximately 2:45 a.m. on July 25, 2026, and responded to the area, where they found a 28-year-old Hispanic male had been shot at a residence. The victim was transported to Brownfield Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers stopped a vehicle leaving the scene and arrested two suspects. Justin DeLaCruz, 27, and Braxton Gil, 27, were both booked into the Terry County Jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
