Bruce Springsteen gives Brewers manager a ‘Glory Days’ moment before World Series
Bruce Springsteen is providing inspiration as the Milwaukee Brewers pursue their first World Series title. The Jersey Shore icon whose high school baseball memories famously influenced one of his biggest hits, “Glory Days,” surprised Brewers manager Pat Murphy with a FaceTime call two days before the team’s Game 1 win Friday over the Tampa Bays Rays, according to multiple news reports. “Hey, I hear you and I have some connection,” Murphy said Springsteen told him on the call, mlb.com reported. Murphy is a huge Springsteen fan and gave a shout-out to his 2020 song, “Last Man Standing,” after the Brewers won their first pennant since 1982.
