Capitol Police confirm two shot over weekend in Jackson, but have yet to confirm where it took place

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Two people were shot over the holiday weekend in what may be a related incident after a gun was reported at a lounge in Jackson, but the agency in charge of the investigation has not said where the shooting itself took place. According to DPS Spokeswoman Alex Gibert, Capitol Police responded to a call regarding a subject having a weapon at Trio Eatery on North State Street on Sunday. Capitol Police were then notified that two victims were taken to a local hospital and are responsive. No other information was released as Capitol Police continue to investigate. WLBT has asked Gibert for more details and is waiting to hear back.
