Central Florida garbage truck driver arrested after road-rage shooting, police say

A Volusia County garbage truck driver was arrested after investigators determined he was the aggressor in a road-rage shooting that sent him to the hospital, according to the DeLand Police Department. According to a press release, DeLand Police responded to a shooting near Greenborough Loop on Aug. 13 in a newly developed residential subdivision that was still under construction. Officers found a male garbage truck driver suffering from a gunshot wound to his left thigh. According to the investigation, the shooting began as a road-rage dispute between the garbage truck driver, who was performing his normal route, and occupants of a white box truck that was blocking the roadway, the release stated.
