(WCSC) — A Charleston County sheriff’s deputy has died following a multi-vehicle collision that shut down Ladson Road for several hours Wednesday, officials confirmed. The Moncks Corner Police Department extended its deepest condolences to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office following the loss of one of their deputies in the incident. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the deputy’s family, friends, fellow deputies, and everyone affected by this loss,” Moncks Corner Police officials said in a statement. “Rest easy, Deputy. We have the watch from here.” The identity of the deputy has not yet been released by the coroner. Deputies said Ladson Road from Highway 78 to Lincolnville Road is now open.
