WESTLAKE, Ohio — A child riding an e-bike suffered serious injuries Tuesday morning after colliding with a semi-truck at a busy Westlake intersection. The crash is the latest e-bike incident amid growing debate over safety regulations across Northeast Ohio. The crash occurred around 8:40 a.m. at the intersection of Columbia and Westwood roads, according to the Westlake Police Department. The child, who was wearing a helmet, was immediately transported to a hospital with injuries described as serious but apparently not life-threatening, police said.
