College football coach furious over ‘disgusting’ play that seriously injured player

A college football player’s career could be over after being injured during a play that Stephen F. Austin coach Colby Carthel described as “disgusting” and “pathetic.” Lumberjacks tight end Gerard Edimo caught a pass late in the first quarter of Saturday’s game against Prairie View A&M. He was tackled by Panthers defensive back Eric Zachery, who held onto Edimo’s leg as it bent awkwardly. Carthel was asked about his team’s health Monday and was clearly upset about the play. “I’ve coached 27 years of college football, that was the second dirtiest, most unsportsmanlike play I’ve seen in my career.
