(WJAR) - Police say an 18-year-old football player at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth was killed and his teammate was injured in a stabbing outside a Rhode Island nightclub. Chukuwnonso Uzome-Eze, a 19-year-old student at UMass Dartmouth, is facing a murder charge, according to Providence Police. He is accused of fatally stabbing 18-year-old Marvins Antoine outside a nightclub in Providence, Rhode Island, early Saturday morning. Antoine, a freshman football player at UMass Dartmouth, was at Mezzo Lounge with other members of the football team, including 19-year-old freshman Kensley Macean, after their Friday night game. Police say the nightclub was putting on an event hosted by a Massachusetts-based promoter. “There was an altercation between a female and some of the victims that were in line, and then, the altercation moved over to the parking lot of the Wendy’s,” Providence Police Chief Oscar Perez said.
