Colleyville police investigating murder-suicide after man and woman found dead inside home

Colleyville police are investigating a murder-suicide after two people were found dead inside a residence over the weekend.Officers responded at 4:15 p.m. Saturday to a home in the 5300 block of Bluebonnet Drive for a death investigation. Arriving officers discovered an unresponsive man and woman inside the residence, and Colleyville Fire Department paramedics pronounced both dead at the scene.According to a police investigation conducted in conjunction with the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office, the woman sustained fatal gunshot wounds, while the man appeared to have suffered a fatal, self-inflicted gunshot wound. A handgun was recovered near the man's body.The identities of the deceased are being withheld pending formal identification and notification of next of kin by the medical examiner's office.Police stated that the investigation remains ongoing, but authorities assured the public that the incident appears to be isolated and poses no ongoing danger to the community.
