The Columbia Police Department officer who was injured in a weekend shooting was released from the hospital Sunday while funeral arrangements were made for his fellow officer who died in the line of duty . Officer David Dymock has gone home to continue his recovery following Saturday’s double fatal shooting at Southeast Park in Columbia. “We are grateful to share that Officer David Dymock’s condition has improved, and he has been released from the hospital ,” police said on social media. Officer Chris DeLong, 28, died in the shooting. The suspect in the shooting, 33-year-old Prosperity resident Adam Dowdy, also was killed during the incident, Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook said Saturday during a news conference. There has been an outpouring of support for DeLong, who was with the department for 2 years and is survived by his wife and two young children.
